Anthony Volpe, who has been struggling offensively, smashed a three-run home run in the third to extend the lead to 6-0. It was his eighth of the season.ย
Greg Allen started in place of the injured Harrison Bader and belted a solo shot in the fourth to make it 7-0.ย
Seattle tagged Nestor Cortes for two runs in the fifth on a pair of two-run doubles.
Aaron Judge made it an 8-2 game in the seventh with his 18th long ball. He has gone deep 12 times in the last 16 games and is two behind Mets first baseman Pete Alonso for the league lead in home runs.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa capped off the scoring with a two-run single, his fourth hit of the night.ย
Michael King tossed two shutout innings in relief of Cortes, and Ryan Weber recorded the final six outs.ย
The Yankees will go for the three-game sweep on Wednesday, with Clarke Schmidt toeing the rubber. The first pitch is slated for 9:40 p.m.ย
