Keuka College recently celebrated Alan “Herbie” and Lauren Snyder, locally recognized as “Team Snyder”, for their unyielding dedication to community service in Yates County.
The duo received the 2023 Donald and Corinne Stork Award for Community Service in a grand ceremony on the college campus. Speaking to a gathering of over 100 people, Keuka President Amy Storey praised the Snyders for their consistent contributions to various community organizations. The couple’s efforts have touched prominent Yates County establishments such as the Yates Christmas Program, Mozaic, Rainbow Junction Educational Care Center, and many more.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Lauren Snyder mentioned that while their service initiatives primarily aim to help others, they also serve as personal enrichment. Beyond the award, state Senator Tom O’Mara and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano issued a proclamation on behalf of the state Legislature, lauding the couple’s unwavering commitment to the community. Despite the accolades, Lauren emphasized that “Team Snyder” has no intentions of stepping back from their community endeavors, describing their service activities as the couple’s social life. The Donald and Corinne Stork Award was established by Keuka College in 1991 to highlight individuals who actively contribute to the community’s well-being.
