Nassau County police are searching for three men who, disguised as utility workers, forced their way into a North Hills home with a gun on Monday, pushing a 69-year-old woman down in the process.
At 11:20 a.m., the three men rang the doorbell of a Folie Court home while dressed in fluorescent jackets, pants, hard hats, gloves and face masks, claiming to check on a gas leak, police said.
When the home’s caretaker, a 35-year-old man, answered the door, the men forced their way into the home, brandishing a small black handgun, police said.
Once inside, the men threw the 69-year-old homeowner to the ground and held her there.
The victims then started screaming, and the three men left the home and fled toward Shelter Rock Road. The trio left with an undetermined amount of property, police said.
There were no injuries reported, police said.
Detectives request anyone with information about the attack to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911.
