Armed man attempts to run from Poughkeepsie cops

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 20-year-old Poughkeepsie man is facing felony gun charges after running from police who attempted to talk to him on Thursday.  Police say the incident began on April 4 at 3:52 p.m., when officers observed a young man in the area of Lincoln Avenue and attempted to conduct a brief interview with him.

When the cops made contact with Micah Anderson, he took off running.  Officers caught Anderson and while searching him, discovered a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun, equipped with laser sights.

Anderson was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon then held pending arraignment.
