TOWN OF WAPPINGER – A 41-year-old Poughkeepsie resident has been arrested following an early Sunday morning stabbing at the Skyview Apartments on Route 376 in Wappingers Falls. Ikara Leake, 41, is facing felony assault charges after allegedly stabbing another man during a fight.
State Police responded to a report of a stabbing on July 16, 2023, at approximately 1:18 a.m. The stabbing, according to the initial reports, happened earlier in the evening. According to police, Leake and the 58-year-old victim had been in an altercation when the victim sustained a stab wound to the abdomen.
The victim was transported to Vassar Brothers Medical Center by ambulance.
Leake was arrested and charged with felony assault. He was arraigned in Wappinger Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
