MIDDLETOWN – The unofficial start of the holiday shopping season is underway as stores offer special deals on everything mom, dad and the kids would want for Christmas.
The line of cars to get into the Woodbury Common Factory Outlet mall Friday morning stretched for what seemed like mile.
By late morning, police said the enttrances to Woodbury Common were closed off because the parking was at capacity.
Other malls and local stores were also expected to be crowded with holiday shoppers.
The hot items once again this year appear to be wide screen TVs, notepads, cell phones and electronic games. Then, of course there is staples of clothing.
Online shopping continues to have an impact on in-store shopping experience. That will be felt on this coming Monday, dubbed Cyber Monday when online purchases spike.
