TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Police are investigating a bank robbery on Route 9W in the Town of Newburgh that occurred in the early afternoon on Saturday.
Town and State Police scoured the scene for evidence as a police helicopter flew overhead. A police K-9 team also searched for evidence near the Walden Savings Bank branch.
Police said a suspect handed a teller a note demanding money and told the employee he had a gun. None was displayed.
It was not immediately known if any money was stolen.
