PHILIPSPORT- The Homowack Lodge Resort is burning for the third time this week with firefighters on scene working to prevent the blaze from spreading further.
According to Summitville Fire Department Chief Mark Wharton a firefighter was left to keep watch over the smoldering building following Tuesday’s fire and called for help when the fire began to reignite.
Wharton said the goal is to keep the fire from spreading to other portions of the building. He said officials are urging the property owner to demolish the damaged structure.
Firefighters are working the blaze from the exterior only. “Our main goal is to keep it wet,” said Wharton.
The cause of the multiple fires at the location are under investigation.
