Car fire on Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge snarls traffic

RHINEBECK – The Rhinebeck and East Kingston Fire Departments responded to a car fire on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge just after 1:00 p.m. on Friday.  The fire was supplemented by explosions, a witness told Mid-Hudson News.

The vehicle was believed to be carrying propane tanks at the time it caught fire.

Lane closures are expected on the span across the Hudson River while first responders battle the blaze and bridge crews inspect the structure for damage.
