NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh is seeking volunteers to serve on the city’s rent guidelines board that will determine whether rents should be adjusted in compliance with the Emergency Tenant Protection Act of 2019.
The rent guidelines board will be comprised of nine members appointed by the commissioner of the State Department of Housing and Community Renewal based on recommendations from the city council.
The board will consist of two members representing tenants, two members representing property owners, and five who are members of the public who have at least five years of experience in either finance, economics or housing.
Only Newburgh city residents may to apply with applications submitted by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
