NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh is looking to hire part-time police officers to supplement the full-time complement of some 55 officers.
The starting pay is $28 per hour.
The city and the PBA worked together during the recent round of contract negotiations to create opportunities for part-time officers, city officials said. Those part-timers must be transfers and reinstatements of retirees who are within one year of leaving service with valid Municipal Police Training Council certifications.
The city does not have a target number of part-timers and will consider all interested and qualified applicants.
Interested individuals may attend an open house on Saturday, August 19 at police headquarters, 55 Broadway, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Resumes should be submitted to: [email protected] .
