Deadbeat dad doubles down on debt

MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for failure to pay more than $1,000 in child support.  Thirty-one-year-old Keith Nash of South Fallsburg also owed a similar amount for collecting food stamps that he is not entitled to.

According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, deputies arrested Nash on a Family Court Child Support warrant for failure to make $1,200 worth of child support payments.  Nash was also wanted on a warrant for felony grand larceny after he collected $1,152 in food stamps despite not being eligible for the program.

Nash was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and released on his own recognizance, pursuant to New York State Bail Reform laws.

The defendant is due back in court on February 21, 2024.
