HYDE PARK – A 35-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident was arrested after the Dutchess County Drug Task Force (DCDTF) executed a search warrant at a Hyde Park motel on Tuesday. The June 20th raid resulted in the arrest of James Scott, who was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
DCDTF Detective Sergeant Adam Harris says that members of the task force were joined by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit in executing the search warrant at the Golden Manor Motel after an investigation into the sale of cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs in the Hyde Park and Town of Poughkeepsie area was undertaken.
Scott was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Additional charges are pending against Scott in other jurisdictions.
“The members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force represent several police agencies that are dedicated to eradicating the sale of deadly drugs in our county,” Harris said, adding “We are working to protect our citizens from the dangerous poison being distributed by the dealers.”
The DCDTF is comprised of members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, City of Poughkeepsie Police, City of Beacon Police, Hyde Park Police, and the East Fishkill police department.
