POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force raided a S. Clinton Street apartment on Thursday evening following an investigation into drug use and drug sales in the neighborhood. The task force removed 19 individuals from the premises during the 8:00 pm search warrant raid of the apartment which has drawn several complaints from longtime homeowners in the neighborhood.
Armed with search warrants, the Dutchess County Drug Task Force went into the apartment building and removed 19 subjects from the apartment, according to Dutchess County Drug Task Force Coordinator Adam Harris. Coordinator Harris, a detective sergeant with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office told Mid-Hudson News that three of the subjects removed were wanted on outstanding warrants. The homeowner watched Thursday evening as several occupants were brought out, searched, and placed in a DCSO van for transport to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office for processing. “I am thankful this is happening,” she was heard saying.
The main target of the investigation was taken into custody at the scene, according to Harris who said additional information would be released on Friday. “The drug task force received numerous complaints about a residence, which led to a swift response to the area, followed by the removal of the individuals that have been identified as being “bad news for the neighborhood,” according to the neighbor.
