Fire damages Town of Newburgh home on Christmas Eve morning

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A predawn fire at 3 Leonard Avenue in the Goodwill area of the Town of Newburgh caused considerable damage to a home.

The fire caused extensive damage to the rear of the structure and the attic.

The home was occupied at the time of the fire with everyone escaping safely.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The two-alarm fire brought out Newburgh City firefighters as the FAST team and Winona Lake and Air National Guard to assist in firefighting operations.

Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were also at the scene.
