FISHKILL – The Town of Fishkill’s 2024 budget of $22 million has been approved by a unanimous vote of the town board.
While the fiscal plan is $2 million more than this year’s, the town property tax rate is down, said Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra.
The budget included a 14 percent tax decrease for homestead and about 16 percent for commercial,” he said. “Based on the assessed value, you are looking at between $30 and $60 effective tax decrease.”
In the last four years, Albra said police funding has increased by 20 percent.
The new budget also includes $200,000 for Little League field lights and $165,000 for paving of park parking lots.
