Goshen’s Gelletich makes history at state tennis tourney

GOSHEN- Goshen High School junior Braeden Gelletich grew up watching his idols play at the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, Queens.ย  So, it was exciting for Gelletich to be on the famed courts at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Billie Jean King National Tennis Center last week to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) boysโ€™ tennis championships.

Gelletich outlasted Mamaroneckโ€™s Maxim Kalinin 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the NYSPHSAA quarterfinals, before taking out defending state champion Stephan Gershfeld of Hewlett 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals.
