CATSKILL – Travelers to Greene County spend an estimated $283 million in 2022, up $90 million from 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a state report generated by Tourism Economics.
“Creative efforts like the ‘Let’s Go Greene’ campaign have made a difference in setting our county apart as the place to visit in the Catskills,” said Patricia Austin, the county’s tourism director.
The county’s tourism marketing effort won it the award for Excellence in Overall Tourism Marketing from the New York State Tourism Industry Association.
“Entering the post-pandemic era at that time, the Let’s Go Greene campaign served to remind visitors that some of the best memories are made together – right in the Great Northern Catskills of Greene County,” said Timothy Kelleher, president of public relations and marketing company Workshop based in Saratoga and Lake Placid.
The business was founded more than 40 years ago to service the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics.
