NEWBURGH – Firefighters were called to an early afternoon fire on Sunday in a house at 462 Liberty Street in the City of Newburgh.
The two-alarm fire required the callback of additional manpower.
The fire was centered in the attic area of the house with firefighters having a hard time reaching it.
There was smoke and water damage to the second floor.
Firefighters from the West Point and Stewart Air Guard departments responded to the scene along with a deputy Orange County fire coordinator.
The cause is under investigation. There were no reports of injuries.
