HURLEY – The town clerk and deputy clerk in the Town of Hurley both submitted their resignations during the Wednesday night town board meeting.
Town Clerk Annie Reed, a former deputy clerk who was appointed after the death of Clerk Judy Mayhon, said her resignation will be effective January 1, 2024.
Deputy Clerk Donna Cudney, who was also appointed in June, said her last day on the job will be January 12, 2024.
Reed, who was elected to a four-year term last month, recommended the town’s other deputy clerk, Lynne Bailey, be appointed town clerk.
The town board will make its appointment after the first of the year.
