Kids treated to movie by Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office

HURLEYVILLE – Hurleyville was abuzz Saturday night when the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office presented its latest community outreach program, “Movie with the Sheriff.”

Children from around the community were invited to the Hurleyville Performing Art Center to watch the premiere of the movie “Paw Patrol: The Mighty.”

Sheriff Mike Schiff and his staff greeted the children as they arrived and provided them with popcorn and drinks.

Two of the Paw Patrol characters, “Marshall” and “Skye” were on hand at the entrance to the theater to take pictures with the kids.

The Sheriff’s Office also partnered with Catskill Animal Rescue (CARE) that was present in the lobby with a puppy, Cricket, from the shelter. She was adopted from the shelter in Liberty the very next day.

After the movie, each child was presented with a Paw Patrol coloring book to take home.

“Law enforcement is more than making arrests and writing tickets,” said Sheriff Mike Schiff. “Our community outreach programs such as ‘Coffee with the Sheriff, Skate with the Sheriff and Shop with a Cop seek to build trust and mutual respect with the community we serve”

The sheriff thanked the staff at HPAC for their support with the evening’s event.
