KINGSTON – A 22-year-old Kingston man has been arrested on a federal warrant for the sale and distribution of firearms.
Police said Oryin McNabb Mcleod was also wanted in connection with several instances of shots fired in the area.
He was previously charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment for a January 14, 2023 incident and was currently out on bail for those charges.
Mcleod was indicted by a federal grand jury and arrested on the evening of June 29.
Assisting Kingston Police in the several months-long investigation were Ulster Town Police and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
“Long-term investigations require the help of other agencies like the ATF, that bring additional needed resources that benefit our city,” said Mayor Steven Noble.
Chief Egidio Tinti said this is “an example of an investigation that allowed us to use our contacts at the ATF to develop enough information that led to an arrest involving illegal guns. The investigations take a while, but the results are worth it.”
The investigation is ongoing, and police said additional charges and arrests are anticipated.”
