Man reported shot dead in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A Newburgh man is dead and his cousin said he just saw him the night before.

Major Bradley told Mid-Hudson News his cousin, Hyram Bolder and he, were in Middletown catching up on the newspapers when he left to go back to Newburgh.

He called him the next day and got no answer, only to be told by relatives that he had been shot in the head.

Bradley said Bolder was an all-around good person with a good job.

“He worked at the post office, I think as a mail handler. He was there for 40-something years.

Newburgh City officials have yet to respond to requests for comment about the reported incident.
