WHITE PLAINS – A Brooklyn man was sentenced to two to six years in state prison for the August 2023 hit-and-run in Hartsdale that killed a 65-year-old woman.
Antonio Robles Sanchez, 43, pled guilty on August 1 to vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and criminally negligent homicide, all felonies, as well as driving while ability impaired by drugs as a misdemeanor.
At about 11:15 a.m. on August 26, 2023, Sanchez drove his Dodge Ram truck into the victim – 65-year-old Stephanie Kovourias – who was at the intersection of Rockledge Road and East Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale, and then left scene. He was driving under the influence of Xanax at the time.
Kovarias was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Greenburgh Police recovered Sanchez’s license plate at the scene of the incident, and with assistance from White Plains Public Safety, located and arrested him while he was asleep at the wheel in from of the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
