Mayor-elect plans for new administration

POUGHKEEPSIE – Mayor-elect Yvonne Flowers has one month to assemble her team at Poughkeepsie City Hall and keep the momentum going.

Flowers has a leg up on what is needed, having served on the common council.

Budgeting is one of her top priorities.

“Also start working on a transition team, start working on a search for a city administrator. You have to be ready on day one,” she said.

City Administrator Marc Nelson, who served this year as mayor, is moving back to Connecticut to assume a municipal manager post there in 2024.
