KINGSTON – Mayor Steven Noble has issued an executive order adopting the US Department of Transportation/Federal Highway Administration’s Safe System Approach in the City of Kingston.
The executive order, which went into effect on Friday, reinforces the mayor’s commitment to public safety and that his administration will continue to work toward reducing crashes in the city.
Mayor Noble said he hopes the common council “will pursue legislation to make the Safe System Approach a more permanent initiative in Kingston.”
He said since taking office, “I have been diligently working to build a safe transportation system – from bike lines, off street paths, and building connections between existing infrastructure to realigned intersections, better signage, and reconfigured traffic patterns.”
