Metro-North preparing for impending winter storm

HUDSON VALLEY – With predictions of a snowstorm expected to bring snow and winter weather conditions to the area Monday evening, Metro-North Railroad (MNR) is preparing crews to respond for rider safety.  A wintry mix of snow, slush, rain, and high winds is expected in our area later today and into tomorrow.

Metro-North crews are preparing to respond by spreading salt on the platforms and staircases, removing snow where necessary, and maintaining switches for smooth operation.  Dedicated crews are also prepared to remove fallen trees from tracks if needed.

Metro-North officials are asking that riders use caution on the staircases, platforms, and trains due to the possibility of slippery surfaces.

Riders should consider building in extra travel time and checking in with the MTA TrainTime app or mta.info in case there are weather-related impacts to train service.
