Millerton park receives ADA improvements

MILLERTON – The new handicap-accessible bleachers and pathways have been installed at Millerton Community Park, also known as Eddie Collins Memorial Park.  The project was funded with $125,000 in state funds secured by Assemblywoman Didi Barrett (D, Hudson).

The improvements will bring the Little League fields at the park into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and make them accessible to more residents.  She said the renovations will “ensure that everyone with walkers, wheelchairs, strollers and other mobility aids can watch games and cheer on friends and family from these bleachers for generations to come.”

Millerton Mayor Jenn Najdek said the new amenities are “a significant enhancement to serve not only the local community but visitors as well.”
