POUGHKEEPSIE – The MJN Convention Center has once again drawn people to downtown Poughkeepsie on a weekend.  Promoter Angelo Notaro and his company, Famous Food Events, opened the sixth annual Tri-State Seafood Fest on Saturday with fresh seafood vendors and live entertainment, including several cover bands.

Saturday’s turnout was steady, with attendees enjoying lobster rolls, fried and grilled fish, a raw bar, and other seafood specialties from around the globe.  Live entertainment included Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, and Billy Joel cover bands.

The event is continuing on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. with food vendors also offering dishes for those who prefer food from land animals.  Vegans have not been forgotten and specialty cuisine for those adhering to vegan menus.  For those seeking adult libations, craft, domestic, and imported beers, seltzers, ciders, and margaritas along with a special summer punch will be available.  For patrons seeking non-alcoholic beverages, a variety of soft drinks are ready to be served.
