NEW CITY – Following an investigation by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office into forged primary election petitions in the Westchester village of Mount Kisco, the chairman of the Democratic committee and his son were indicted and arrested on forgery related charges.
It is alleged that from March 6 through April 7, William Serratore, 59, the Mount Kisco party chairman, is accused of forging and attesting to forged signatures on here separate petitions for Tom Luzio’s mayoral candidacy and filing them with the Westchester County Board of Elections.
It is also alleged that on April 2, Carmelo Serratore, 24, William Serratore’s son, forged and attested to forged signatures on one petition for the Mount Kisco mayor, which was later filed with the board of elections.
William Serratore is charged with 15 felony counts including forgery, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and offering a false instrument for filing.
Carmelo Serratore is charged with four counts including forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, acting in a special prosecutorial capacity, conducted the investigation.
