New virtual training program for farmers, growers, and agricultural professionals

MIDDLETOWN- Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County is pleased to announce our upcoming Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training program focused on vegetable, fruit production, and packing house operations.ย  The trainingย  program will be held virtually via Zoom, on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.ย ย This training aims to empowerย  growers with pest management techniques and strategies to ensure sustainable and environmentally-friendly crops protection.ย  The cost of this training is $10 per participant.ย 

The Integrated Pest Management training has been designed for farmers, growers, and agricultural professionals seeking toย  enhance their pest management practices in vegetable and fruit production as well as packing house operations.ย  Participantsย  will learn IPM principles, including preventive measures, pest monitoring and identification techniques, biological controlย  strategies, and targeted chemical applications.ย  With an emphasis on sustainability, the training equips participants with theย  knowledge and tools necessary to minimize pesticide use, preserve beneficial organisms, and optimize crop health andย  productivity.ย
