LAKE KATRINE – A 21-year-old Town of Ulster man was killed in a two-car crash on Route 209 in the Town of Ulster just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, Town of Ulster Police announced on Monday.
Investigators identified the fatal victim as Noah Ortman who was driving a 1997 Mustang southbound on Route 209 south of Sawkill Road when he lost control, crossed over the grass median into the northbound lane of Route 209 and was struck by a 2022 Jeep Wrangler driven by Ethan Costi, 24, of Lee, Massachusetts.
Ortman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and Costi and a passenger, Abigail Pacheco, were treated at the scene and transported to HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Ulster Town Police were assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, Ulster County Medical Examiner’s Office, Ulster Hose Fire Department and Empress Ambulance.
