WHITE PLAINS – A Peekskill man has been arraigned in Westchester County Court on an indictment charging him with murder for the fatal shooting of a 53-year-old Poughkeepsie man.
A Westchester grand jury indicted Reginald McClure, 39, for murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting death of Ernest Wilson.
On May 21 at about 7:30 p.m., McClure allegedly confronted Wilson, shooting at him with a 9mm gun striking him twice, in the arm and in the buttocks.
The shooting occurred after the victim had dropped off his child with the child’s mother at their Peekskill home.
Wilson was transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where he died on May 24.
McClure was arrested on the following day at a Yonkers hotel following an investigation by Peekskill Police and the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force. He was also charged with possessing two guns at the time of his arrest.
The Westchester County Department of Public Safety, Yonkers Police and State Police assisted in the investigation.
