President tells Hudson Valley audience, “America is not a deadbeat nation”

VALHALLA – President Joe Biden, Wednesday, defended his call to raise the debt ceiling and prevent the US Government from defaulting.

Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is blaming the Biden administration for delays in resolving the issue, but Biden told the packed auditorium at Westchester Community College in Valhalla the Republicans in the Congress want to cut human services programs to those who can afford it the least – seniors, veterans, Medicaid recipients, and the nation’s workforce.

The president said his administration has passed legislation to turn the country around.

“We are bringing jobs back all across America. This is no time to put all this at risk, to threaten recession, to undermine America’s standing in the world,” he said. “Republican threats are dangerous, and they make no sense. New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who also addressed the full auditorium said that the Republican strategy will backfire.
