MONTICELLO- Sullivan County welcomed 23 new Americans in a naturalization ceremony held at the Sullivan County Courthouse in Monticello.
Sullivan County Clerk Russell Reeves administered the naturalization oath of allegiance to the United States of America and County Court Judge Jim Farrell presided over the ceremony.
According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. welcomed 878,500 new naturalized citizens. Naturalizations in 2022 and 2023 made up 24 percent of all naturalizations over the past decade similar to the one held in Sullivan County.
“It was a great day and ceremony,” said Reeves. “Congratulations to our new citizens.”
