MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling is hosting a no-fee residential household hazardous waste collection event on Sunday, October 20th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Monticello transfer station located at 91 Landfill Drive in Monticello.
Kassie Thelman, the recycling coordinator said, “We’re having our hazardous waste event on Sunday. You can bring paint but we’re also collecting other hazardous wastes that we want to keep out of the landfill. Cleaning products, bug sprays, aerosol cans, old stale gasoline, and all kinds of things that you know, shouldn’t go in in the garbage. On that day will not be able to bring regular household garbage, commercial or medical waste, or anything other than hazardous waste.”
If you need more information she said, “You can email me at [email protected], or you can call me 845-807-0291.”
