MONTICELLO – Following much discussion among Sullivan County legislators, camp operators and parents of attendees, the lawmakers approved a vaccination policy before the summer season.
The adopted policy was modified from that which was initially proposed, which would have included all camp goers and staff.
Catherine Scott, the chairwoman of the health committee was not completely satisfied with the final policy.
“I still object to the fact that staff is not included. I think it is a mistake and I really pray that we do not live to regret that,” she told fellow lawmakers.
Campers will have to show documentation that they have been vaccinated against a number of viruses before being allowed to attend the camp.
