Sullivan Partnership to market housing

MONTICELLO – The mission of the Sullivan County Partnership has traditionally been to attract new commercial and industrial businesses to the county, but it is changing with the times.

Partnership President Marc Baez said the agency is now targeting housing as well to meet the continuing demand.

“Six different projects in Sullivan County. We have another project that is available that I have good confidence they will make a bid on because it is ready to go, and this is for market rate housing,” he said. “While I know there is a big need for affordable housing, there s also a tremendous for folks that just want to work here and be able to afford to live here either in their own condo, their own apartment, their own place to live, and we are seeing some increased activity in housing developers come into the area.”

Baez said there is one housing project in Monticello that is partially completed and aa developer has expressed interest in purchasing and completing it.
