LIBERTY- This week the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association held its annual meeting, cocktail party at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts where the organization presented their 2023 Tourism Excellence Awards.
โWeโre very proud of the growth that weโve seen in the Sullivan Catskills,โ said Roberta Byron-Lockwood, President and CEO of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association.ย โItโs just been astronomical and continues to be a meta for a trajectory.ย This year, over $892 million was spent in our Sullivan Catskills.โ
The associationโs STAR Award for Individual Achievement was presented to Rick Lander, owner of Landerโs River Trips,ย Landerโs has been family-owned and operated since 1955.
The groupโs STAR Award for Business Achievement was presented to the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and its Emerging Business Award to the Black Library in Monticello.
Finally, Adam Jacobson of Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon was awarded the TOAST Award for Exceptional Service.ย Villa Roma is responsible for over $9 million in resort stays in the region, which translates to approximately 19,000 visitors annually.
โThere is just a synergy of all our 15 towns, villages, and all we have to offer,โ concluded Byron-Lockwood.ย โWe have some of the greatest attractions right here in the Sullivan Catskills.โ
