TOWN OF WAPPINGER – Newly elected Wappinger Town Supervisor Joseph Cavaccini has begun working in town hall and has his agenda of priorities set for 2024. Among them is the use of American Rescue Plan funds to make “much-needed” infrastructure improvements, according to the former Dutchess County legislator who was elected as town supervisor in November 2023.
“The town is in great financial shape,” Cavaccini said on Thursday.
“Our goal is to improve the quality of life and enhance it for those who live here,” Cavaccini said. “Our top priority for us is identifying parks and infrastructure improvements – they’ve been ignored for far too long,” he said.
Cavaccini said the town board will move forward on using the unspent ARPA funds to make some much-needed infrastructure improvements. He said the town has nearly $3 million in unspent ARPA funds and he wants to spend a portion of the money on the town’s many parks.
