NEW SQUARE – Ramapo Town Police have arrested two men for allegedly stealing property including cash from vehicles in the overnight hours of February 26 and 29.
The investigation also revealed they had attempted to enter a home but were unsuccessful.
One suspect, Jorge Perez, 33, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was arrested on the 26th, arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
On the 29th, the second suspect, identified as Fraimy Miguel Morel-Rojas, 26, of Suffern, was located by detectives and arrested. He was also remanded on $25,000 bail.
Both men were charged with attempted burglary, grand larceny, and several counts of petit larceny and conspiracy.
Ramapo Police were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and New Square Office of Emergency Management.
“Every inch of our village is under video surveillance, and we have a zero-tolerance policy on crimes against our residents,” said New Square Mayor Israel Spitzer.
