WALLKILL- Two teenagers have been arrested after falsely reporting a shooting at the Monhagen Middle School in the Town of Wallkill.
On Friday, shortly after noon, police responded to a report of a shooting at the school. According to 911, a telephone call was made to them that there was an active shooter in the school. Shortly after arriving to the school officers and school officials determined the report was false.
An investigation by police led to the arrest of two 14-year-old students who both live in the City of Middletown. The teens were arrested and police have charged them with falsely reporting an incident. Both teens were released to their guardians after being issued appearance tickets for Orange County Family Court.
One teen is scheduled to appear in court on March 20, and the other on March 22nd.
