Two regional airports secure federal improvement funds

WASHINGTON – Westchester County Airport and New York Stewart International Airport have both been awarded FAA Airport Improvement grants.

Westchester will receive two grants – one totaling just under $4 million to acquire snow removal equipment and a second one for $973,000 to rehabilitate an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle.

Stewart will receive $2.8 million to rehabilitate a runway.

This latest round of AIP funding totals over $27 million for projects at 13 airports in New York State.
