Ulster BOCES teacher arrested for official misconduct

KINGSTON – A 70-year-old Ulster BOCES teacher has been arrested and charged with official misconduct for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student at the BOCES Career and Technical Center in the Town of Esopus.

It is alleged that Ronnie Green of Ellenville provided a student with a cell phone so he could communicate with the youth privately. Greene allegedly engaged in inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature with the student, the Ulster Sheriff’s Office said.

Green surrendered to detectives on Thursday, December 7, was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Detectives said the investigation is ongoing.

If are a current or former student, or know someone who was, and believe you or they are a victim of a crime committed by Green, you are asked to contact the sheriff’s confidential tip line at 845-340-3599.
