Ulster lawmakers to approve project labor agreement to build new 911 center

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Legislature is set to approve a project labor agreement with construction unions to build the new county government operations center in New Paltz.

Lawmakers will vote on the move at tonight’s (Monday) session in Kingston.

A 2001 resolution requires that any county construction project over $1 million  will explore the implementation of such an agreement with the construction trades.

This project is expected to cost several million dollars to build.

In the case of the new 911 emergency center is estimated that a PLA  will save the county 6.4 percent in labor costs, equating to $432,237.
