Ulster lawmakers to take closer look at housing needs

KINGSTON – In an effort to bring all Ulster County housing issues to the table in one area of government, the county is going to form a housing subcommittee.

Legislator Abe Uchitelle said the legislature and administration agree with the plan.

“We are going to be establishing a housing subcommittee, a division to be a single place that all housing discussions can happen,” he said. “Some of the housing resolutions that we deal with that are bounced between various committees, this can be a single source of conversation around that.”

The subject of housing needs in the region is universal with issues of supply and demand, and affordability.
