MOUNTAINDALE – A worker in a field was struck by lightning and went into cardiac arrest off Sullivan County Route 56 in Mountaindale at mid-afternoon on July 4, authorities said.
CPR was performed at the scene and resuscitated by Mamakating EMS and Hatzolah paramedics and was transferred to the hospital.
His condition was not immediately known.
The region was hit for a second day with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and torrential rains.
