Herkimer County’s 21 coaches earned an average salary of $6,167 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fifth lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at New York post-secondary schools during 2022.

Herkimer County is home to just one post-secondary school which paid coaches during 2022.

Male coaches of men’s teams received $6,775 on average in Herkimer County, while female coaches in charge of women’s teams earned an average of $5,614.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
