Amsterdam City School District had the highest enrollment among Montgomery County school districts, welcoming 3,791 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.2% of them were boys, and 49.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Amsterdam City School District students was Hispanic, accounting for 50% of the student population.

Among the five districts in Montgomery County, Fonda-Fultonville Central School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,277 students, while Canajoharie Central School District welcomed 858 students and ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.
