Almost 100 anglers participate in Heuvelton’s Kids Labor Day Fishing Derby

HEUVELTON — Catfish, pike, perch, small mouth bass, northern pike and walleye were among the fish caught by 96 anglers who participated in the Heuvelton Labor Day Fishing Derby.
 Every child went home with either fishing gear or an outdoor activity.
First, second and third place winners in three age brackets each won a fishing pole, bait bucket, fishing lures and a trophy.
Ivan Todd and Gaige Church won drawings for kayaks.
“This year was our biggest year since taking over the fishing derby in 2019. We hope to make next year even better,” said organizer Audrey Liscum.
